Screed EP surfaces.Ceracote EP serves as a protective paint on concrete and steel structures exposed to aggressive chemical environment, battery rooms, chemical handling areas etc.
Ceracote EP can be used as a decorative sealer paint on Cera
Screed EP surfaces.
Method Of Application:
Surface Preparation: The adhesion of Ceracote EP film is greatly impaired if the surface is not prepared thoroughly. Remove dirt, oil residues and existing paint if any by scrubbing with coarse wire brush or by chipping off the top layer. Grease and oil, if present should be cleaned by chemical means or by sand blasting and water jetting. New concrete should be cured for minimum 28 days prior to the application of Ceracote EP.
The concrete should be fully dry before application of Ceracote EP. To find the moisture content in concrete, a hygrometer reading shall be obtained. It is advisable to carry out the epoxy paint
Ceracote EP has excellent resistance to various chemicals such as 50% solution of Sulphuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, 10% solution of Ammonia and Urea, Saturated sugar, Kerosene, Petrol and Diesel.
Application:
Prior to application of Ceracote EP, the cracks, joints etc., shall be sealed with epoxy sealant.
Cera Primer EP shall be applied on the prepared surface and allowed to dry. The base and curing agent of Ceracote EP shall be mixed in proportion and applied in 2 coats leaving sufficient time between each coat of application.
Tools and equipments should be cleaned with Cerasol immediately after application.
Curing: At 36 Degree C cure time is 2-4 hours and full curing takes 4 days.

Advantages:
Low maintenance costs
Excellent resistance to most industrial, atmospheric chemicals attacks
Excellent resistance to water ingress, UV rays, no yellowing on exposure to sunlight
High Anti Carbonization properties
Seamless surface, easily cleanable
100% impermeable surface finish
Function:
Cera Cote PU is a two-component, solvent-free, pigmented & clear high performance Polyol with Isocynate polyurethane protective coating possessing good resistance to long term exposure of UV rays and chemical attacks.
Uses:
Cera Cote PU provides a chemical and UV resistant protective coating, also suitable for external waterproofing.
Cera Cote PU can be applied on various substrates such as concrete, masonry, steel, etc.
Application Instructions:
Surface preparation: All surfaces must be smooth, sound and free from loose or flaking material and areas of standing water. Surfaces must be free from contamination such as oil, grease, dust, loose particles and organic growth. Concrete surfaces must be fully cured, laitence free and no traces of shuttering release oils and curing compounds. All surfaces should then be air blasted to remove all foreign matter and open up blow-holes, and free to provide coating for Cera Cote PU. All blow holes and imperfections should be filled with Cera Polymortar PE.
Mixing: The individual components of A & B should be thoroughly stirred before mixing them together and then the components A&B should then be mechanically mixed together for atleast 3 minutes using a slow speed (200 -250 RPM) drill machine attached with a mixing paddle.
Application:
Prior to application of Cera Cote PU, Cera Primer PU shall be applied on the prepared surface and allowed to dry. Apply Cera Cote PU with a nylon brush, or a flat pile felt roller, to the prepared substrate. Allow Cera Cote PU first coat to dry for 2-4 hours at 30oC and then apply the second coat. When applying Cera Cote PU as a topcoat over any of the Ceracote range of epoxy systems or equivalent range of epoxies, it must be applied after 6 hours but within 24 hours of applying the epoxy.
Curing:
This coating will become tack free in approximately 4 - 6 hours and be fully cured in 7 days.
Coverage:
Cera Cote PU will cover 40-45 sq.ft/coat/kg/DFT @ 180-200 microns. However coverage may vary depending on the porosity of substrate, application thickness, wastages etc.
Cleaning:
Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with Cera Diluent. Wash immediately hands and skin with soap or a body wash.
Storage:
Cera Cote PU has a shelf life of 6 months when stored under normal warehouse conditions in unopened containers. Exposure to moisture greatly reduces the shelf life, particularly that of the hardener.
